Campus Resources
- The Counseling Center: Any student registered for one or more credits is eligible for a consultation appointment. As resources permit, additional services and/or referrals may be provided. Counseling services are generally available on an appointment basis. Call the Counseling Center to check available times, 355-8270 (TTY 353-7278).
- The Family and Child Clinic: Provides therapeutic services for families, couples, and individuals of all ages through a systemic lens. $30 per session between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm, $35 per session between 4:00pm and 8:00 pm, and $15 per session for MSU students. - The MSU Psychological Clinic: Provides psychological services to children, adolescents, adults, families, couples, and older adults. The Clinic offers psychotherapy, psychological assessments and evaluations, and mood and memory workshops for older adults. Therapy services are confidential, short-term, and available at affordable, income-adjusted rates. Contact the clinic at (517) 355-9564 for more information.
- Olin Health Center: Olin provides medical and dental care for students and their spouses during their enrollment at Michigan State University. They have a good deal of free information available regarding drug and alcohol use. To contact, call (517) 353-0718 or email them at healthed@msu.edu.

Community Resources
- The Mid-South Substance Abuse Commission: The MSSAC is the coordinating agency for all licensed and funded substance abuse programs in Calhoun, Clinton, Eaton, Gratiot, Hillsdale, Ingham, Jackson, Lenawee and Shiawassee Counties. Services are provided through programs under contract with the commission. The Commission is involved with many of the services listed on this page.
- Central Diagnostic & Referral Services: The CDRS is the central diagnostic and referral agent for Calhoun, Clinton, Eaton, Gratiot, Hillsdale, Ingham, Jackson, Lenewee and Shiawassee counties. The program provides chemical dependency screening and assessments, referrals to appropriate treatment, assistance with financial arrangements & monitoring of treatment progress and drug testing. - Child & Family Services, Capital Area: Services Offered: Adolescent Outpatient, Adolescent Intensive Outpatient, Assessment, Student Assistance Program Screenings, and Family & Youth Outreach Program. Medicaid provider. Contact at (517) 882-4000.
- Cristo Rey Community Center: An outpatient counseling and prevention program designed to meet the needs of the minority communities in the area. Services include: substance abuse education, individual and family counseling, outreach to homeless individuals, a medical clinic and supportive services referrals. Contact at (517) 372-4700.
- Southland Counseling Center: Provides outpatient treatment services for individuals with drug and alcohol problems. Methadone maintenance is also provided to individuals with chronic opiate addictions. Contact at (517) 346-8270.
- National Council on Alcoholism/Lansing Regional Area (NCA/LRA): NCA/LRA is a substance abuse treatment agency that provides services for people experiencing problems with alcohol or other drugs. Offerings include information, education and treatment on an outpatient, intensive outpatient or long-term residential basis. Special programming is available for women and families. - The Glass House: A long-term residential program for women with chronic chemical dependency including alcoholism and other drug addictions. This program is part of the continuum of services operated by the National Council on Alcoholism/Lansing Regional Area. Contact at (517) 482-2028.
- The Holden House: A long-term residential program for men with chronic chemical dependency including alcoholism and other drug addictions. This program is part of the continuum of services operated by the National Council on Alcoholism/Lansing Regional Area. Contact at (517) 394-0004.
- Gateway Community Services: A human service provider offering a wide range of services to families, adolescents, and young adults including: family, group or individual counseling, crisis intervention, parent education and support and emergency shelter. Contact at (517) 351-4000 .
